A journey that began in the imagination of a seven-year-old in a dojo in Soviet-era Budapest, culminating in an accomplished Eastern European artist experiencing the Tokyo of his dreams decades later. A disciplined creative challenge. A deeply personal milestone.

A chance encounter in Budapest on a cold, rain-soaked December evening was the catalyst for this project when Zoltàn (KZ) encountered a collector (GT) from the Philippines who would unexpectedly set this journey in motion.
On her way from the William Blake (WB) exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, GT coincidentally interacted with KZ’s Minotaur. By recognizing the subconscious connection between WB and KZ spanning centuries, she ignited the creation of a new body of work, a new dialogue among the realms of past, future and eternity.
Soon after, she commissioned KZ to create two distinct artworks—one in glass and the other in mirrored glass. He was given just two months to plan, execute, travel to the Philippines—bringing the artworks divided into hundreds of small pieces to be able to carry with him as checked luggage—and reassemble them into two large glass mural artworks.
What began as a tight deadline soon became the starting point for a series of new unforeseen adventures, opening a new and unexpected next chapter in the career of this seasoned artist.
